2025 Annual Report
The SDG Impact Finance Initiative (SIFI) is pleased to announce the publication of its Annual Report 2025.
In 2025, SIFI moved from building its platform to demonstrating its impact, leveraging public and philanthropic contributions to unlock private capital for high-impact solutions across emerging markets and developing economies. With a mobilisation ratio of 1:6, SIFI continues to catalyse private investment into underserved regions and sectors where financing is most needed.
Over the past year, SIFI expanded its portfolio and advanced its ecosystem-building work across its three strategic windows:
Innovation Window: SIFI committed USD 2.5 million in new grant funding to six early-stage initiatives across two calls for proposals, bringing its cumulative Innovation Window portfolio to 25 grants worth USD 7.0 million.
Investment Window: SIFI’s Investment Window portfolio more than doubled to USD 4.4 million, with a new first-loss equity investment in Next Billion Capital’s Digital Growth Fund. A further USD 10.2 million has been provisionally allocated through completed calls for proposals and is expected to be signed in 2026.
Ecosystem Window: SIFI published a landmark study with the Columbia Center on Sustainable Investment, convened its Asia Roadshow across Singapore, Tokyo and Seoul, launched a five-year Ecosystem Window strategy, and established the PRISM Impact Lab in partnership with ETH Zurich and Tameo Impact Find Solutions.
In parallel, SIFI brought its web-based Impact Monitoring and Management tool (IMM) into operation to enhance transparency and donor visibility, welcomed two new donor partners, the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the Ursimone Wietlisbach Foundation, and completed an independent external evaluation validating its model, efficiency and early catalytic effect.
As SIFI continues to grow its platform, strengthen partnerships and support the development of the impact investing ecosystem, it remains focused on its mission: to mobilise up to USD 1 billion in private capital for high-impact investments aligned with the SDGs in developing countries by 2030.
